Description: This a wholesome and affordable example of the extremely popular yet very hard to find “Sun-face” type from the early Argentine republic. This particular variety happens to have a Medallic orientation, meaning the reverse (back) face is oriented upwards the exact same as the obverse (front). This particular variety is the scarcest of the four different types for the year and series, as it was only minted for a year in 1828.
